Crate training is a great way to not only help your dog learn house rules (such as where and when to use the potty), but it can also help them feel safe and comfortable in their new home. We recommend buying a 42-inch crate with a divider to continue potty training your puppy.
Puppies go to their new homes at 8 weeks old and are already eating dry food at this time. We feed our puppies Kirkland Puppy Food (blue bag). You can feed your doodle baby twice a day (1/2 cup per feeding) or three times a day (1/3 cup per feeding).
The puppies go home with collars already, but you can buy one you like if you prefer. 🙂
A playpen is great until the puppy is 4-5 months old. You can leave your pup inside it to play when it is without attention. You can also place training pads in it to continue potty training or set it up in your backyard when the weather is comfortable for the puppy (not too cold and windy, and not too hot).
We use "Groomer’s Goop" puppy shampoo, conditioner, and shampoo wipes.
Research good vet clinics in your city while waiting for your puppy to come home. Decide on pet insurance, schedule the first puppy vet exam, and ask about a vaccination schedule or puppy plan.
